For the second year in a row, we organised a side event of New Energy Coalition’s Wind meets Gas conference. Around 110 other attendees from 12 countries joined us at Groningen Airport Eelde.

Wind meets Gas: what can you do as an airport with hydrogen

The event focused on the sustainable aviation future, with particular attention to airport hydrogen infrastructure: Hydrogen Valley Airport.

A talk show was hosted at the airport under the guidance of Edwin Mooibroek. He sat down with Jochem de Jong of TotalEnergies, Gerben Broekema of Broekema Avation, Wiebren Santema of GroenLeven and Meiltje De Groot to discuss sustainability in aviation and the role of hydrogen in it. Florian Kruse of Evia Aero and Gabriël Koetsier of Neste also gave presentations on electric flying and sustainable fuel. The opening was provided by Tjisse Stelpstra, Member of the Provincial Executive of Drenthe Province, and the closing by IJzebrand Rijzebol of Groningen Province.

Also present were several partners, including Resato Hydrogen Technology Alfa-college, Holthausen Clean Technology, GroenLeven DEMCON and DEAC Dutch Electric Aviation Centre Teuge. Partners told about their ambitions and the latest developments in green energy, electrification and green hydrogen.
